Placebo Mod for Minecraft 1.20.1 and 1.19.2, is another simple “library mod”, which basically contains code information and some non-visual tweaks in order to make it easier to create mods. Therefore, its use is only recommended for those mod makers who require it.
However, almost all mods that require this fabulous add-on are from the same creator, so you will normally only need to use it with Shadows_Of_Fire mods. Obviously, it is not able to add new content such as blocks or enemies, it only modifies part of the Minecraft code.
Actually, and as usual in this kind of cases, Placebo does not add any new content, as it only modifies some Minecraft parameters and codes. The aim is simple, to facilitate the work of updating and developing mods, usually from the same creator.
That is, by installing this add-on, mod developers will not have to update the same code in each of their creations, making it easier to update them. For now, this add-on contains general automation code, also improving game performance when using certain mods.
Much of Placebo’s code is unknown, and in fact, only its creator is in charge of adding it to certain mods, obviously developed by him. Despite this, however, it is one of the most downloaded add-ons in the history of Minecraft.
